What does the grit (24# -1500#) represent ?
First, we would like to introduce that our abrasive brushes are made of diamond or silicon carbide wires and plastic plinth.
Secondly, the abrasive wires are mainly composed by nylon PA612 / 610 and diamond grains / silicon carbide grains.
Actually, the grit number represent the size of diamond or silicon carbide grains.
Grit =grain size= quantity of holes per inch (1inch=25.4mm), for example, 24# grains can pass 16# mesh but can’t through 36# mesh, because 24# grains is smaller than 16# grain, but bigger than 36# grain
Rough polishing grit: 16# 24# 36# 46# 60# 80#
Medium polishing grit: 120# 180# 240#
Fine polishing grit: 320# 400# 600#
Precision polishing grit: 800# 1000# 1200# 1500# 1800#
Grains sizes arrayed from biggest to smallest is: 16# > 24# > 36# >60# > 80# > 120# > 180# > 240# > 320# > 400# ……
